Biographical Notes in German: nach anderen Quellen 1899 geboren, eigentlich Oliveretta Elaine Duffy, Schauspielerin des amerikanischen Stummfilms, erst Tänzerin bei den Ziegfeld Girls. 1917 heiratete sie den Schauspieler Jack Pickford, Mary Pickfords Bruder. Bei dem Produzenten Myron Selznick drehte sie mehrere romantische Melodramen, die sie zu einem der beliebtesten Stars der späten Zehnerjahre machten. Ihr rätselhafer Tod 1920 blieb stets ungeklärt, und trotz ihrer Popularität geriet sie relativ schnell in Vergessenheit. Von ihren Filmen haben nur wenige überlebt.
