Tsui Hark was born circa in 1951. He is Actor, Director, known for Da gung wong dai (1985), Do ma daan (1986), Tie jia wu di Ma Li A (1988), Tsui Hark's first movie on record is from 1985. His last motion picture on file dates from 1997.
Biographical Notes in German: eigentlich Tsui Man Kwong; als 13 jähriger experimentierte er mit einer 8-mm Kamera. Sein Filmstudium absolvierte er in Texas und New York. In Chinatown arbeitete er zu dieser Zeit als Redakteur einer chinesischen Zeitung und als Autor, Cutter, Kameramann und Regisseur beim Kabelprojekt "Chinatown Community TV". 1977 drehte er in Hongkong die erfolgreiche TV-Serie "The Gold Dagger Romance". 1984 gründete er mit seiner Frau Nansun Shi die eigene Firma "Film Workshop Co. LTD". Seit Mitte der 80er Jahre gilt Hark als "Steven Spielberg des Hongkong Kinos". Ihm hat das Easterngenre eine völlige Modernisierung zu verdanken. Neben der Hinwendung zum aufwendigen, international erfolgreichen Action-Film gelang ihm mit der Trilogie "A Chinese Ghost Story" und der Filmreihe "Once Upon a Time in China" zwei der grössten Kassenhits der letzten Jahre.
