George Stevens "A Place in the Sun" aus dem Jahre 1952 machte sie zum internationalen Star, Richard Brooks' "Cat on a hot tin roof" zur gefeierten Tennessee William Schauspielerin und Mankiewicz' "Cleopatra" zur höchstbezahlten Diva Hollywoods.
