He was a German Director of Photography, known for Arme Maria - Eine Warenhausgeschichte (1915), Die Falle (1912), Die Hochzeitsfackel (1912), Hermann Böttger's first movie on record is from 1909. Hermann Böttger died on , 1943. His last motion picture on file dates from 1925.
Biographical Notes in German: Deutscher Kameramann "der ersten Stunde", Mitarbeiter von Max Mack, für den er den Film "Der Andere" photgraphierte. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg nur noch selten beschäftigt, 1935 bis 1938 Leiter der Fachgruppe Kamera in der Reichsfilmkammer. 1943 wohl nach seinem 65. Geburtstag verstorben.
