Biographical Notes in German: Schauspielerin des amerikanischen Stummfilmes, geboren in Brooklyn NY. Erste Komparsenrollen in den Studios der Thanhouser Film Company in New Rochelle, dann kleinere Rollen in einem Pearl-White Serial und anderen Serial der Pathé. In grösseren Rollen debütierte sie in den Toto-Komödien bei Hal Roach, die allerdings wenig erfolgreich waren. David W. Griffith machte Probeaufnahmen mit ihr in engagierte sie, erst für die zweite Rolle in "The Girl who stayed at home", dann für "True Heart Susie", wo sie die Gegenspielerin von Lillian Gish wurde. Obwohl diese Filme keinen grossen Erfolg hatten, wurde Clarine Seymours Spiel in der damaligen Kritik beachtet. Nochmals die zweite Rolle spielte sie als Partnerin von Richard Barthelmess und Carol Dempster in "Scarlet Days", bis sie dann in dem Südsee-Film "The Idol Dancer" die Hauptrolle als Almond Flower spielte, eine von Lebensfreude sprühende junge Mischlingsfrau zwischen zwei grundverschiedenen Männern. Griffith gab ihr einen Vier-Jahres-Vertrag und begann mit ihr als Kate Brewster die Dreharbeiten zu "Way Down East". Hier scheint sie sich bei den Aussenaufnahmen eine Erkältung zugezogen zu haben, sie kam zu einer Routine-Operation ins Spital und starb, gerade 22-jährig nach der Operation. Mary Hay spielte darauf hin die Rolle der Kate Brewster.

Von allen "Griffith"-Girls war sie - nach den Filmen heute zu urteilen - wahrscheinlich die farbigste und "modernste": sie verkörperte bereits viel von dem, was später die grossen Stars der Zwanziger Jahre auszeichnete.
