Jewel Carmen died on March 4, 1984 in El Cajon, California, USA. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1926.

Sie debĂŒtierte als Extra in der Keystone Company unter dem Namen von Evelyn Quick. Unter der Regie von Mack Sennettie war sie Partnerin Edgar Kennedy in A LIFE IN BALANCE. Unter eher nebulösen UmstĂ€nden verliess sie die Keystone Company und Ă€nderte ihren Namen in Jewel Carmen, spielte unter anderem in David Wark Griffith's INTOLERANCE und war Partnerin von Douglas Fairbanks in einigen seiner Filme. Trotz ihrer anmutigen Erscheinung hatte Jewel Carmen bis 1926 nur eine kurze Karriere im Film, in den Dreissiger Jahren geriet ihr Name nochmals in die Schlagzeilen, als ihr Mann einer der HauptverdĂ€chtigten im Skandal ĂŒber den Tod oder Selbstmord des Filmstars Thelma Todd war.
