The day of birth of Julius Szalit is not on record. He was a Polish Actor, known for Der zehnte Pavillon der Zitadelle (1917), Ochrana warszawska i jej tajemnice (1916), Julius Szalit's first movie on record is from 1916. He was married to Rachel Szalit-Marcus. Julius Szalit died on August 28, 1919 in München. His last motion picture on file dates from 1917.
Biographical Notes in German: Polnischer Schauspieler, auch in Berlin tätig. verheiratet mit Rahel Szalit-Marcus. Laut einigen Quellen beging Julius Szalit 1916 in Berlin Selbstmord, nachdem er vom Verhältnis seiner Frau mit dem Maler Iser Weissberg erfahren hatte. Zumindest das Datum darf in Frage gestellt werden. Am 23. Dezember 1917 fand im Residenztheater Berlin eine Aufführung von Dostojevskijs "Raskolnikoff" in der Regie von E. Licho mit Julius Szalit statt. Mit Paula Somary spielt er in "Der junge Zar" [Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung Nr. 7, 17. Februar 1918]. Carl Mayer kündete 1917 u.a. einen Film von Walter Schmidthässler mit Gilda Langer, Rosa Valetti, Julius Szalit und Julius Falkenstein an. 2015 wurde ein signiertes und 1918 in Budapeste datiertes Foto von Julius Szalit versteigert.
