Olivia de Havilland was born under the given name Olivia Mary de Havilland on July 1, 1916 in Tokyo. She is an American Actress, known for The Ambassador's daughter (1956), The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana (1982), The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Olivia de Havilland's first movie on record is from 1935., married to Marcus Goodrich (1946-1953) and Pierre Galante (1955.1979). Her last motion picture on file dates from 1988.
Biographical Notes in German: Schauspielerin des amerikanischen Films, Schwester der Schauspielerin Joan Fontaine. Entdeckt von Max Reinhardt, spielte sie ihre erste Filmrolle in der Wilhelm Dieterle Inszenierung des "Sommernachtstraum" 1935. Mit Filmen wie "Unter Piratenflagge" oder "Robin Hood" wurde Olivia de Havilland wurde auf Jahre die Filmpartnerin von Errol Flynn, In "Vom Winde verweht" hatte sie als Melanie die zweite weibliche Hauptrolle, Ashley's Ehefrau. Warner Bros. nahm sie unter die (Zwangs)-Fittiche eines amerikanischen Studiovertrages und legte sie auf Rollen der treuherzigen jungen Frau fest. Schliesslich klagte Olivia de Havilland erfolgreich gegen die Studiobosse und konnte sich fortan ihre Rollen selbst suchen. Für den 1945 gedrehten Film "To Each his Own" erhielt sie ihren ersten Oscar, vier Jahre später einen weiteren Oscar für "The Heiress". In "The Dark Mirror" spielte sie die Doppelrolle der "guten" und der "bösen" Schwester, in "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte" brillierte sie von durchtriebener Boshaftigkeit. Eine ihrer letzten Rollen spielte Olivia de Havilland 1976 in der österreichisch-englischen Koproduktion "The Iron Mask".
