Jean de Limur was born on November 13, 1887 in Vouhé, Charente-Maritime. He was a French Actor, Director, known for A Woman of Paris (1923), Don Quichotte (1933), The Three must-get-theres (1922), Jean de Limur's first movie on record is from 1922. Jean de Limur died on June 5, 1976 in Paris. His last motion picture on file dates from 1945.
Biographical Notes in German: Französischer Regisseur und Schauspieler, debutierte im Film als Fechtpartner von Max Linder in seinem amerikanischen Film "Die Drei Musketiere", dann auch Regieassistent und Schauspieler bei Chaplin in "The Woman of Paris". In den dreissiger Jahren bis Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs Regisseur von etwa einem Dutzend Spielfilmen. 1933 ist Jean de Limur auch Regieassistent bei Georg Wilhelm Pabst in "Don Quichotte" mit Fjodor Shaljapin in der Titelrolle. Jean de Limur heiratete eine Tochter Shaljapins, und wurde so zum Schwager von Luigi Freddi, dem Direktor der italienischen Filmindustrie unter Mussolini. Einer der letzten Filme de Limurs war 'Apparizione' mit Alida Valli in der Titelrolle. Die Realisierung dieses Films wurde im nach der Befreiung zum Vorwurf und beendete de Limurs Filmkarriere. Die letzten fünfzehn Jahre arbeitete er dann in der Direktion der französischen Autofirma Simca. [lhg 2013]
