Richard Angst was born on July 23, 1905 in Zürich. He was a German Director of Photography, known for Abenteuer im Engadin (1932), Das Geheimnis der schwarzen Koffer (1961), Das Wirtshaus im Spessart (1957), Richard Angst's first movie on record is from 1927. Richard Angst died on July 24, 1984 in Berlin. His last motion picture on file dates from 1970.
Biographical Notes in German: Deutscher Kameramann, Ausbildung als Photolaborant und Kameraassistent, 1923
durch Arnold Fanck zum Film. Richard Angst gehörte mit Sepp Allgeier und Hans
Schneeberger zum berühmten Trio, die für ihre Berg- und Naturaufnahmen
bekannt wurden. In den Nachkriegsjahren vor allem deutsche Unterhaltungsfilme
wie verschieden Edgar-Wallace Produktion und mehrere Filme des Regisseurs
Kurt Hoffmann. 1971 wird Richard Angst mit dem Deutschen Filmpreis
ausgezeichnet.
