Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle was born on March 24, 1887 in Smith Center, Kansas, USA. He was an American Schauspieler, Regisseur, known for The Masquerader (1914), His new profession (1914), The rounders (1914), Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle's first movie on record is from 1912. Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle died on June 29, 1933 in Los Angeles, California, USA. His last motion picture on file dates from 1960.
Biographical Notes in German: Stand schon mit 8 Jahren auf der Bühne und arbeitete als Klempner, bevor die Selig Produktion ihn 1908 als Statisten im Film einsetzte. 1913 bekam er 5 Dollar pro Tag als Keystone Cop. Seine Frau war Minta Durfee (Scheidung 1925). Arbuckle drehte von 1913 bis 1920 über 70 Filme und wirkte in 6 Chaplin Filmen mit. Ab 1916 führte er selbst Regie. 1917 ging er nach New York und arbeitete für die Paramount. 1919 verdiente er 1 Million Dollar pro Jahr, doch 1921 war seine Karriere jäh zu Ende, als er in eine Sex Skandal verwicklet wurde, bei dem das Starlet Virgina Rappe umkam. Arbuckle wurde freigesprochen, doch die Öffentlichkeit sorgte dafür, dass niemand mehr das Risiko einging, seine Filme aufzuführen. 1926 startete er unter dem Pseudonym William Goodrich ein Comeback als Regisseur.
