Axel Graatkjær died on November 13, 1969 in Aarhus, Jütland. His last motion picture on file dates from 1929.
Biographical Notes in German: Kameramann des dänischen und später des deutschen Stummfilms. Begann wohl seine Karriere mit Viggo Larsen bei der Nordisk Film A/S, und wird dort mit Larsen bei Jean Mitry genannt. Marguerite Engberg nennt allerdings Axel Sörensen statt seiner bei den frühen Film Larsens.
