Nach der Machtübernahme der Nazis wurde seine Witwe nach Polen deportiert, ì
wo sie wahrscheinlich in einem Konzentrationslager ermordet wurde.

Zu Bachwitz' Werken zählen neben anderen die Operette "Die Nacht von San ì
Sebastian" (Leipzig 1926) mit der Musik von Ralph Benatzky.
