Camilla Horn was born on April 25, 1903 in Frankfurt am Main. She was a German Actress, known for Der Unsichtbare (1987), Schloss Königswald (1987), Friedemann Bach (1941), Camilla Horn's first movie on record is from 1921. Camilla Horn died on August 14, 1996 in Gilching. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1992.
Biographical Notes in German: Geboren und aufgewachsen in Frankfurt, erst Schneiderlehre und Besuch der Kunstgewerbeschule; Umzug über Erfurt nach Berlin, wo Camilla Horn Tanzunterricht nimmt. Erste Auftritte in der Nelson-Revue, dann auch Filmstatistin. In Murnaus TARTÜFF doubelt sie für einige Szenen Lil Dagover, Murnau entdeckt sie hier nach der Absage von Lilian Gish als sein Gretchen für "Faust". Der Erfolg dieser Rolle verschafft ihr einen Vierjahresvertrag der UFA.
1927 geht Camilla Horn für einige Filme nach Hollywood und 1929 nach New York, wo sie mit Alexander Moissi eine Tonfilmproduktion ein deutscher Sprache dreht ("Die Königsloge / The Royal Box"). Weitere Auslandsproduktionen in den Dreissiger Jahren in Frankreich und England: Partnerin von Gustav Diessl, Louis Graveure, Hans Albers, Gustav Fröhlich, Ivan Petrovich, Albrecht Schoenhals verkörpert sie vor dem Zeiten Weltrieg "wie nur wenige in dieser Zeit die offensive, fordernde Geliebte, spielt Mannequins und Maniküren, Komtessen und Kokotten, Tänzerinnen und Equilibreusen, zweifelhafte Damen der Halb- und Lebewelt" (Cinegraph)
Nach 1940 bloss noch Nebenrollen, schwieriges Comeback im deutschen Nachkriegsfilm, verschiedene Theaterengagements. Peter Schamoni verschafft ihr mit SCHLOSS KÖNIGSWALD 1986 eine späte Homage, für welche Camilla Horn dann auch mit dem Bayerischen Filmpreis ausgezeichnet wurde.
Am 14. August 1996 ist sie in Gilching gestorben.
