Biographical Notes in German: begann seine Karriere als Maler und Werbezeichner, bevor er von Richard Oswald als Filmausstatter engagiert wurde. 1920 bis 1924 Starregisseur der Bavaria Film AG, dort entstanden seine beiden bekanntesten Filme NATHAN DER WEISE (1922) und HELENA (1923/24). Danach Rückkehr nach Berlin, 1926 Gründung der Noa-Filmproduktion. Manfred Noa war für kurze Zeit mit der Schauspielerin Eva May verheiratet.
