Gunther Philipp was born on June 8, 1918 in Toplitza (Rumänien). He was an Austrian Actor, Author, known for Im 'Weissen Rössl' (1960), Tante Trude aus Buxtehude (1971), Das Mädchen ohne Pyjama (1957), Gunther Philipp's first movie on record is from 0. Gunther Philipp died on October 2, 2003 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. His last motion picture on file dates from 2001.
Biographical Notes in German: eigentlich Gunther Placheta, als Sohn eines Tierarztes
geboren. Ursprünglich Arzt und Psychiater, wurde Gunther
Philipp in mehr als 150 Filmen des deutschsprachigen
Unterhaltungskinos zu einem der beliebtesten Komiker der
Fünfziger und Sechziger Jahre. Er war wohl nie ein grosser
Schauspieler, aber seine Rollen war zeittypisch und
beliebig austauschbar. Als es mit dem deutschen und
österreichischen Unterhaltungsfilm zu Ende ging, wechselte
Philipp zum Fernsehen und zum Boulevard-Theater.

1989 veröffentlichte er seine Erinnerungen unter dem Titel
"Mir hat's fast immer Spass" gemacht. Am 2. Oktober 2003
starb Gunther Philipp in einer Klinik in Bonn-Bad
