Eric Satie was born on May 17, 1866 in Honfleur. He was a French Composer, known for Another Woman (1988), Le feu follet (1963), Entr'acte (1924), Eric Satie's first movie on record is from 1924. Eric Satie died on July 5, 1925 in Arcueil. His last motion picture on file dates from 1998.
Biographical Notes in German: Erik Satie (1866 - 1925) ist der Sohn eines französischen Musikverlegers und einer Schottin. 1879 bestand er die die Aufnahmeprüfung am Pariser Conservatoire, verließ jenes jedoch vorzeitig, da er sich von der gängigen Behandlung von Musik abwandte. 1887 ließ sich Satie in der Künstlerkolonie Montmartre nieder. 1898 zog er sich in den Pariser Vorort Arcueil zurück, wo der Tonkünstler bis zu seinem Tod 1925 sich seinen Kompositionen widmete. Der als Exzentriker geltende Musiker war seiner Zeit voraus und beeinflusste gerade junge Musiker, die sich unter dem Namen "Nouveau Jeunes" formierten.» (Arte Presse)
