Gretl Schörg was born on January 17, 1914 in Wien. She was an Austrian Actress, known for Strasse der Verheissung (1962), Ganovenehre (1966), Der Blaue Stern des Südens (1951), Gretl Schörg's first movie on record is from 1943. Gretl Schörg died on January 4, 2006 in Wien. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1971.
Biographical Notes in German: eigentlich Margarete Schörg, Gretl Schörg, gewann mit 23 Jahren gewann sie bei einem Schönheitswettbewerb. Erste Theaterrollen in Wien, Karlsbad, Mährisch-Ostrau und Marienbad. Operettensängerin, 1940 ans Metropol-Theater nach Berlin. In den 50er Jahren Filme u.a mit Johannes Heesters und Romy Schneider, zog sich Anfang der 70er Jahre weitgehend von der Öffentlichkeit zurück. - 2004 erhielt sie das Österreichische Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst I. Klasse.
