She was a German Actress, Author, known for Der Golem, wie er in die Welt kam (1920), Nosferatu, der Vampyr (1922), Pünktchen und Anton (1953), Greta Schröder's first movie on record is from 1913. Greta Schröder died on June 8, 1980 in Berlin. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1953.
Biographical Notes in German: Nach anderen Quellen 1891 geboren, Schauspielerin des deutschen Stummfilms, die in den Fünfziger Jahren ein kurzes Comeback hatte, Ihre bedeutendste Rolle hatte Greta Schröder in Murnaus Nosferatu.
Greta Schröder studierte 1908 in Oxford und begann nach 1910 ihre Theaterkarriere nach einem Schauspielunterricht mit kleinen Rollen bei Max Reinhardt am Deutschen Theater in Berlin. Unter Max Reinhardt spielte sie auch ihre erste Filmrolle, die Göttin der Psyche, 1913 in "Die Insel der Seligen". Nach 1945 spielte sie vorwiegend Theater in Wien, bis sie sich nach 1958 aus der Öffentlichkeit zurückzog.

Greta Schröder war in erster Ehe mit dem Schauspieler und Regisseur Ernst Matray verheiratet, später mit dem Schauspieler und Regisseur Paul Wegener, von dem sie 1930 geschieden wurde. Meist trat sie unter dem Namen Margarete oder Greta Schroeder-Wegener auf.
