Biographical Notes in German: Bertrand Blier, Sohn des berühmten französischen Schauspielers Bernard Blier, wird am 14. März 1939 bei Paris geboren. Nach seinen Anfängen als Regieassistent gibt er 1963 mit der Dokumentation "Hitler? Kenne ich nicht" sein Regiedebüt. Für seinen dritten Film "Breakdown" arbeitet er 1967 mit seinem Vater zusammen. Zwischenzeitlich ist Bertrand Blier als Drehbuchautor tätig und steht selbst auf der Bühne. Mit "Die Ausgebufften" (1974) beginnt sein großer Erfolg, der bis heute anhält und ihm 1978 für "Frau zu verschenken" einen Oscar beschert. "Zu schön für Dich" erhält 1989 den "Grand Prix Spécial" im Rahmen des Filmfestivals von Cannes sowie den César in der Kategorie bester Film. Auch die Schauspieler werden mit dem César geehrt: Gérard Dépardieu und Carole Bouquet werden als beste Hauptdarsteller, Roland Blanche als bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet. (ARTE Presse)
