Leo Slezak was born on August 18, 1873 in Mährisch-Schönberg. He was an Austrian Actor, Sänger, known for Operette (1940), Der Herr im Haus (1940), Die blonde Carmen (1935), Leo Slezak's first movie on record is from 1922. Leo Slezak died on June 1, 1946 in Rottach-Egern. His last motion picture on file dates from 1958.

Geboren in Mährisch-Schönberg, weltberühmter Sänger. Ursprünglich Gärtner und ì
Schlosser, Debüt 1896 in Brünn (Brno), dann von 1901 bis 1926 an der Wiener ì
Hof- resp. Staatsoper engagiert. 1905 Kammersänger. 1909-12 glänzende Erfolge ì
an der New Yorker Metropolitan Opera, bedeutender Wagner-Sänger und ì
ausdruckstarker Liedinterpret. Auch als Filmschauspieler, vor allem in ì
komischen Rollen, erfolgreich. Leo Slezak starb in Rottach-Egern.

Seine beiden Kinder Walter und Margarethe Slezak schlugen ebenfalls die ì
Sängerlaufbahn ein.
