Remarks and general Information in German: «Einer von Howard Hawks’ drei bevorzugten Filmen und ein bahnbrechendes Werk sowohl der Screwball Comedy als auch des ameri­kanischen Tonfilms. Das Theater als Schlachtfeld zwischen Schauspielerin und Regisseur, einem tyrannischen Feudalherrn, versessen darauf, als Pygmalion Carole Lombard in Galatea zu verwandeln. Hawks fordert seinen weiblichen Star in einer Drehpause auf, die verdammte Schauspielerei sein zu lassen und vor der Kamera das zu tun, was sie im wirklichen Leben getan hätte: John Barrymore in den Bauch zu treten. Und er hält alle Akteure an, schneller und einander ins Wort fallend zu sprechen.
