Reviews in German: "... In WAY DOWN EAST bewies Griffith noch seine Kraft. Sein Geschmack für das Neue liess ihn den Farbtönungen eine grosse Rolle zumessen. Seine ganze Kunst der Montage zeigt sich in der Szene auf den Eisschollen, einer Glanzszene, derer sich Pudovkin später in dem Film "Die Mutter" erinnerte. Remarks and general Information in German: - während der Dreharbeiten erkrankte die Schauspielerin Clarine Seymour und starb an den Folgen einer Routineoperation im Spital. Die Rolle der Kate Brewster wurde mit Mary Hay neubesetzt, in einigen Totalen kann man noch Clarine Seymour sehen.
