Synopsis in German
"Zille"-Film aus dem Milieu der Berliner Unterschicht. Der aus dem Gefängnis entlassene Ingenieur Robert findet zunächst keinen Halt mehr: Der Vater verstößt ihn, die Verlobte hat ihn verlassen. Er findet keine Arbeit.

Voller Verzweiflung will er seinem Leben ein Ende machen, da rettet ihn das Straßenmädchen Emma und nimmt ihn bei sich auf. Als Emma und ihr Bruder in einen Raubmord geraten und vor der Polizei fliehen müssen, hilft Robert ihnen. Sein Leben nimmt eine gute Wende: Er findet Arbeit und einen Förderer, erlangt eine leitende Stellung in einer Fabrik in Düsseldorf. Als er nach Berlin zurückkehrt, muss er Abschied nehmen von der sterbenden Emma. (www.filmportal.de)
