Synopsis in German
Achim Hagenau, vielbeschäftigter Zahnarzt aus Düsseldorf, hat sechs Kinder: die angehende Tierärztin Anna, den Fischhändler Arnulf, Adelheid, die mit ihrem Verlobten Boris in einem Kibbuz lebt, Achim jr. bei der Marine und die Zwillinge Anke und Angela, die noch Schülerinnen und die Problemkinder der Familie sind. Nach jahrelanger schwerer Krankheit stirbt Achims Frau, um die er sich aufopfernd gekümmert hat. Die Familie will enger zusammenrücken, doch Achim hat andere Pläne: Er verkauft Haus und Praxis und zieht auf einen Bauernhof im Schwarzwald.

Kaum hat er sich dort eingerichtet und die ersten Tiere angeschafft, taucht Boris auf. Und gerade als Achim und Bärbel Ramsbächle, Lehrerin, Teilzeit-Bäuerin und Mutter von zwei Halbwüchsigen, sich endlich nähergekommen sind, stehen unverhofft alle Kinder gleichzeitig vor der Tür, um Achims 50.
