Synopsis in German
Lucía arbeitet als Kellnerin in einem Restaurant in Madrid. Eines Tages verschwindet ihre große Liebe, der Schriftsteller Lorenzo. In ihrer Verzweiflung und Trauer reist Lucía auf die Mittelmeerinsel Formentera, von der Lorenzo immer erzählt hat. Dort lernt sie Carlos und Elena kennen. Ohne dass sie es zunächst wissen, haben alle eine Verbindung zu Lorenzo.
Je mehr Lucía über ihre zwei neuen Insel-Bekanntschaften erfährt, desto mehr wird sie an das Manuskript erinnert, das Lorenzo ihr vor seinem Verschwinden zum Lesen gab. Es ist die Geschichte einer Reise in eine dunkle Vergangenheit, die wohl Grund für Lorenzos depressive Gemütslage in letzter Zeit war. Immer mehr verschwimmen die Grenzen zwischen Realität und Fiktion, während Lucía der Wahrheit auf der Spur bleibt – und sich dabei immer mehr verliert, in Lorenzos Schicksal wie in Träumen von Liebe und Sex.
