Synopsis in German
Als ausgebrochene Sträflinge schlagen sich Stanley McLaurel (Stan Laurel) und Oliver Hardy (Oliver Hardy) nach Schottland durch, um die Testamentseröffnung von Stanleys Grossvater nicht zu versäumen. Stanley bekommt jedoch bloss einen Dudelsack, Haupterbin wird die junge Lorna McLaurel (June Lang), die bis zur Volljährigkeit unter der Vormundschaft des in Indien stationierten Colonel McGregor (Vernon Steele) steht. Schweren Herzens reist sie zu ihm und verlässt ihre grosse Liebe Alan Douglas (William Janney). Stanley und Oliver logieren derweil mittellos in einem Hotel.

Dort entdecken sie eine Intrige: Die erbschleicherische Lady Violet Ormsby, die ihren Bruder McGregor mit Lorna verkuppeln wiell, liess Alans Liebesbriefe verschwinden. Kaum hat sich das Missverständnis aufgeklärt, geraten Stanley, Oliver, Alan und der Sergeant in Lebensgefahr. (ARD Presse)
