Es geht um russische Spione, welche die USA unterwandern, um den russischen Präsidenten zu töten, während sich dieser in den USA aufhält. Was der Unfug soll? Er soll die Russen provozieren, damit diese die USA angreifen. Die Idee ist so bescheuert, dass man meinen könnte, sie stamme aus dem Film «Conspiracy Theory» (...) Angelina Jolie läuft und läuft und läuft. Seit Forrest Gump hat niemand mehr so viele Kilometer abgespult wie Salt. Marathonfrau Jolie beeindruckt nicht nur mit ihrer Ausdauer: Sie schlägt sich auch in den Kampfszenen hervorragend. Die Inszenierung von Phillip Noyce ist rasant, der Film unterhält. Über den absurden Plot lässt sich hinwegsehen.
