Synopsis in German
1807 steht England, ganz auf seine Flotte angewiesen, im Kampf gegen Napoleon. Nach langer Fahrt erreicht die Fregatte "Lydia" die Küste Nicaraguas. Ihr Kommandant Horatio Hornblower hat den geheimen Auftrag, spanische Rebellen gegen Napoleon mit Waffen zu versorgen. Ihr Anführer verlangt von dem englischen Kapitän, daß er für ihn das spanische Linienschiff "Natividad" kapern soll. (wdr Presse)
