Synopsis in German
Gustave Minda alias Gu entkommt nach zehn Jahren aus dem Gefängnis. In Paris sucht er seine alten Freunde auf - die Restaurantbesitzerin Simone, genannt Manouche, und den Barmann Alban, einen ehemals gefürchteten Scharfschützen. Gu kommt gerade rechtzeitig, um Manouche in letzter Minute aus den Händen zweier skrupelloser Gangster zu befreien, die für den berüchtigten Jo Ricci arbeiten und von Gu in einem Wald erschossen werden. Die Art und Weise, wie er sie beseitigt, führt Kommissar Blot auf seine Spur.

Die treuen Freunde verstecken Gu in Marseille, um ihm von dort zur Flucht nach Italien zu verhelfen. Während er auf seine falschen Papiere wartet, will er sich an einem Überfall auf einen Geldtransporter beteiligen - unter der Leitung seines guten Freundes Paul Ricci, dem Bruder des zwielichtigen Jo, dessen Männer Gu kaltblütig ermordete. Weder Manouches Warnungen noch die Tatsache, dass er bei dem Überfall einen Polizisten ermorden muss, können Gu abschrecken.

Der Coup gelingt, aber er führt auch Kommissar Blot auf seine Spur. Ballistische Untersuchungen ergeben, dass die beiden Gangster in Paris und der Polizist aus Marseille mit derselben Waffe getötet wurden. Blot stellt Gu eine Falle. Der tappt nicht nur hinein, sondern belastet dabei auch noch seinen Freund Paul Ricci. Doch der prinzipientreue Gu kann mit dem Verrat an einem Freund nicht leben und will sich an den Ehrenkodex halten. Er versucht das Unmögliche: noch einmal zu entkommen, um Paul von jedem Verdacht reinzuwaschen - gejagt von der Polizei und von Jo Ricci, der seinen Bruder Paul rächen will... (Arte Presse)
