Kapitän Alan Gaskell hat einen schwierigen Auftrag; er soll mit seinem Schiff eine Ladung Gold durch gefährliche Gewässer bringen, die von malaiischen Piraten unsicher gemacht werden. An Bord ist eine sehr gemischte Gesellschaft. Nicht zuletzt machen zwei hübsche Frauen dem Kapitän zu schaffen: die burschikose "China Doll" und die feine Lady Sybil, die beide in ihn verliebt sind.
