In den Jahren nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg herrscht zwischen Österreich und Deutschland eine strikte Geldsperre. Der wohlhabende Georg tritt seine regelmäßigen Salzburgbesuche zur Festspielzeit daher mit leerer Börse an.
