Als seinem Blatt wegen einer Falschmeldung auch noch die Millionenklage einer reichen Erbin (Myrna Loy) droht, schreckt er nicht davor zurück, seine attraktive Verlobte (Jean Harlow) in ein amouröses Rettungsmanöver zu verwickeln: Sie soll eine Scheinehe mit ­einem schriftstellernden Don Juan (William Powell) eingehen, der wiederum der Erbin den Kopf verdrehen und so die ursprüngliche Zeitungsente nachträglich rechtfertigen soll. Ein turbulenter Klassiker, in dem MGM sein Thin Man-Erfolgsgespann Powell/Loy mit ­einem Comedy-Comeback von Jean Harlow kombinierte, die zuvor wechselhafte Abstecher ins ernste Fach unternommen hatte.
