Briefträger Jucker ist die gute Seele im Quartier. Er kennt die Sorgen und Nöte seiner Nachbarn. Manchmal kümmert er sich um den vaterlosen Mäni, der ständig in Schwierigkeiten steckt. Juckers Ehe kriselt. Vor fünf Jahren ist sein Sohn Albertli gestorben. Seine Frau Frieda kommt nicht darüber hinweg und macht Jucker das Leben schwer. Nach einem Autounfall liegen Jucker und Mäni im selben Spitalzimmer und werden Freunde. Als kurz darauf Mänis Mutter stirbt, erhält Jucker das Sorgerecht. Er hofft, der aufgeweckte Junge kann seine Frau über den Verlust des eigenen Kindes hinwegtrösten. Doch Frieda behandelt Mäni wie einen Eindringling. (3Sat Presse)
