Synopsis in German
Das 'Wentworth Plaza' rühmt sich, das nobelste Hotel Amerikas zu sein. Zu seinen illustren Gästen zählt Multimillionär T. Mosely Thorpe, der sein Leben dem Schnupftabak widmet und an einem bedeutenden Buch darüber arbeitet. Mrs. Prentiss, Witwe eines Fliegenfängerkönigs und ebenso reich wie geizig, hat ihn als Ehemann für ihre Tochter Amy ausersehen, aber die mag ihn gar nicht. Vielmehr gefällt ihr der sympatische Medizinstudent Dick Curtis, der sich das Geld für sein Studium mit einem Job im Hotel verdient.
Amys Bruder Humboldt wiederum hat eine Schwäche für Revuegirls, was seine Mutter empörend findet. Ein ungern gesehener Hotelgast ist der nassauernde Theaterdirektor Nicoleff. Als Mrs. Prentiss einen Regisseur für eine alljährliche Wohltätigkeits-Show braucht, sieht der Exzentriker eine Gelegenheit, endlich einmal zu Geld zu kommen, und dient sich Mrs. Prentiss an. Auch die hübsche Stenotypistin Betty Hawes ist auf harte Dollars aus, als sie sich an T. Mosely Thorpe heranmacht ... (hr Presse)
