Reviews in German: "Die Uraufführung dieser neuesten Schöpfung Joe May"s fand im Tauentzienpalast statt. Sie ist ein Detektiv-Abenteuer in einem Vorspiel und vier Akten. Die bekannte Figur des Joe Deebs wird mit vollendetem Geschmack von Harry Liedtke dargestellt. Mit diesem Werk hat es Joe May wiederum verstanden, gewissermaßen einen neuen Typ zu schaffen, Joe Deebs arbeitet wie stets mit außergewöhnlichen Mitteln, die den Zuschauer in größter Spannung erhalten.
So exzentrisch die ganze wohldurchdachte Handlung ist, so raffiniert sind Joe Deebs Detektivarbeiten, die ihm, wohl in letzter Minute, aber doch rechtzeitig zum Ziele führen. Er wird, der guten Sache willen, zum Einbrecher, Dieb und Gewaltmenschen. Ihm fallen Fingerzeige nicht so leicht in den Schoß, er muß sie hart erringen. Bemerken wollen wir noch, daß die gesamte Ausstattung hervorragend ist, alle Joe-Deebs-Vorgänger werden übertroffen. Das geschliffene Spiel der zahlreichen Mitwirkenden zeugt von vorzüglicher Regie.
