Synopsis in German
(...) Eine mit Verfolgungsjagden gespickte Musikkomödie, in deren Mittelpunkt ein Gewinnlos steht; vom Atelier eines mittellosen Kunstmalers bis in die Kulissen der Oper. (...)

Der Film ist, wie sein Vorgänger "Sous les toits des Paris", eine musikalische Komödie. Es geht um ein Lotterielos, das der dauernd in Nöten steckende Kunstmaler Michel in seine alte Jacke gesteckt und vergessen hatte. Von seinen Gläubigern erfährt er, daß er das Große Los gewonnen hat. Aber die Jacke ist bei seiner Freundin Béatrice zur Reparatur und diese wiederum schenkt sie in einem Anfall von Eifersucht einem Ganoven namens Père la Tulipe, der auf der Flucht vor der Polizei ist. Die Jacke wird dann in dem Trödelladen des Père la Tulipe von einem Opernsänger erstanden als Kostüm für den "Zigeuner". Nun beginnt eine wilde Verfolgungsjagd: Michel sucht das Große Los, die Gläubiger suchen Michel, die Polizei ist hinter dem Ganoven her und der hinter dem Opernsänger mit der Jacke, die schließlich wieder bei ihrem rechtmäßigen Besitzer landet.
