Synopsis in German
Die Lehrerin Luise Taden heiratet den brutalen Fabrikanten Wilhelm Rohrbach, der wegen Mißhandlung eines Arbeiters drei Tage Arrest erhält. Am Hochzeitstag wird Luise vor einem Juwelierladen von einem Fremden belästigt. Als ihr Mann aus dem Laden kommt, schlägt er den Fremden nieder und tötet ihn. Rohrbach muß wegen Totschlags für drei Jahre ins Gefängnis. Luise, die inzwischen seinen schlechten Charakter erkannt hat, kann ihn nur noch verachten. Trotzdem geht sie zu Rechtsanwalt Rüting, der die Wiederaufnahme des Prozesses durchsetzt. Die Strafe wird auf zehn Monate reduziert. Nach Verbüßung sucht Rohrbach Luise in ihrer Wohnung. Als er sie mit Gewalt ins Schlafzimmer schleppt, kann sie fliehen. Nach einem Jahr sucht er sie wieder heim und klagt aus Rache auf Scheidung. Sie nimmt aus Liebe zu ihrem Kind die Schuld auf sich und wird nach Verbüßung einer kurzen Strafe die Frau von Anwalt Rüting. (www·filmportal.de)
