Synopsis in German
Ingeborg Krafft heiratet einen brutalen kaukasischen Schlossherrn, der sie eines Tages davonjagt. Sie will ins Kloster, trifft aber ihre Jugendliebe wieder, den Forscher Hendryk Overland, der gerade Vorbereitungen für eine Expedition ins Innere Neuseelands trifft. Hendryk bringt Inge zu seiner Schwester Dagmar und verspricht ihr, sie zu heiraten, sobald er von der Expedition zurück ist. Doch dann erhalten die Frauen die Nachricht, dass die Expedition im Urwald von Wilden überfallen und alle Teilnehmer getötet wurden. Am gleichen Tage verunglückt Dagmars Kind tödlich. Sie verfällt darüber dem Irrsinn und wird in die Anstalt eingewiesen. Da die Krankheit als unheilbar gilt, wird die Ehe zwischen Dagmar und ihrem Mann Harry geschieden. Nun finden Inge und Harry zueinander. Doch am Tage nach der Hochzeit kehrt der gerettete Hendryk zurück, und Dagmar wird beim Anblick des tot geglaubten Bruders wieder gesund. Inge will davonrennen, doch Harry lässt sie nicht gehen. Da stürzt sie sich aus dem Fenster. (www.filmportal.de)
