Hausmeister Sixtus Bader betreut ein Mietshaus, in dem recht verschiedenartige Leute wohnen. Was da so passiert, ist nicht immer in Baders Sinn; darum entschließt er sich, ein bisschen Schicksal zu spielen.
Denn hier wohnen: ein gräfliches Paar mit einem leicht vertrottelten Sohn, ein Kammersänger mit seiner hübschen Tochter und ein angeblicher Privatgelehrter, der spiritistische Sitzungen abhält.... (SWR Presse)
