Synopsis in German
«Der junge Roger wird in einem Pariser Spielsalon bezichtigt, beim Kartenspiel zu schwindeln. Ein ihm unbekannter mondäner Herr bürgt jedoch mit einem hohen Geldbetrag für ihn. Der Unbekannte entpuppt sich als ein von der Polizei gesuchter Abenteurer, der sich durch seine Auftritte in immer neuen Masken und unter wechselnden Namen den Verfolgern entzieht. Roger befolgt seinen Rat, Gier und Dummheit der Menschen für seine Karriere auszunutzen.
