Synopsis in German
Eines Nachts werden die zwei kleinkriminellen Brüder John und Ray Biddle ins Krankenhaus gebracht: Bei einer Schießerei mit der Polizei wurden sie jeweils am Bein getroffen. Der frisch promovierte Arzt Luther Brooks hat zum ersten Mal Nachtschicht in der Notaufnahme und kümmert sich um die beiden. Schon bei der Einweisung fällt Ray mit rassistischen Sprüchen gegen den schwarzen Dr. Brooks unangenehm auf.
Während der ersten Untersuchung wird Dr. Brooks auf den schlechten Zustand von John aufmerksam. Dieser scheint kaum noch bei Bewusstsein und ist völlig orientierungslos. Dr. Brooks entwickelt den Verdacht eines Gehirntumors und will dem Patienten etwas Rückenmarksflüssigkeit entnehmen, als John dabei ganz unerwartet plötzlich stirbt. Ray hat das Ganze mit eigenen Augen beobachtet und beschuldigt Dr. Brooks, seinen Bruder absichtlich umgebracht zu haben.
Chefarzt Wharton ist überzeugt, dass Dr. Brooks das Richtige getan hat, und unterstützt zwar dessen Diagnose, aber nur eine Autopsie kann Gewissheit schaffen. Doch Ray, der sich als wahrer Psychopath herausstellt, weigert sich empört, die benötigte Einwilligung dafür zu geben, und bereitet stattdessen eine blutige Rache vor. ... (Arte Presse)
