Die Atelieraufnahmen fanden in Johannistal bei Berlin statt, die Aussenaufnahmen in Stockholm. Der Film ist bis auf den fünften Akt erhalten.
www.filmportal.de nennt Theodor Sparkuhl als Kameramann, im Vorspann des Films wird allerdings nur J. Julius (i.e. Julius Jaenzon) genannt.
