Synopsis in German
Prinz Karl Heinrich soll in Heidelberg sein Studium beenden. Dort verliebt er sich in die Wirtin der Herberge, in der er wohnt. Doch das Glück, ein Mensch wie alle anderen zu sein, ist kurz… Die Handlung entlehnte Lubitsch einer Operette, um daraus einen tragischen Liebesfilm zu machen, der Publikum und Presse gleichermassen begeisterte.
