Josh und Dinah Barkley sind ein erfolgreiches Musical-Paar, gefeiert auf der Bühne, glücklich im Privatleben. Plötzlich aber scheint Dinah der Sinn nach Höherem zu stehen. Ein französischer Schriftsteller schmeichelt ihr damit, dass er sie als geborene Tragödin bezeichnet. Josh kriegt darüber Lachanfälle, aber nun will sie es ihm gerade zeigen. Sie übernimmt die Rolle der jungen Sarah Bernhardt, dabei liefe alles auf ein Fiasko hinaus, wenn nicht hinter den Kulissen Josh wieder einiges einrichten würde... (wdr Presse)
