Doch mitten während der Dreharbeiten wurde die Führungsrige bei RKO gefeuert und die neue Studioleitung kippte das Projekt. Übrig blieb ein Filmtorso ohne Drehbuch, ungeschnittenes Filmmaterial der drei Episoden und der Woodoo-Zauber des grossen Witchdoctors gegen Welles und das Projekt." (lhg 2005)
