München, Zweiter Weltkrieg: Die junge Kati Zeiler führt einen kleinen Friseurladen. Ihr Ehemann Felix kämpft an der Ostfront. So zieht Kati ihre Tochter Marie allein groß. Bei einem Bombenangriff werden Laden und Wohnung zerstört. Kati flieht aufs Land, wo sie ihr zweites Kind zur Welt bringt. Nach Kriegsende kehrt sie in die Stadt zurück. Felix bleibt jedoch in Russland verschollen. Da verliebt sie sich allmählich in den Heimkehrer Hans Schuler. (3Sat Presse)
