Synopsis in German
Nordafrika während des Zweiten Weltkrieges: Sergeant Joe Gunn, Kommandant eines versprengten amerikanischen Panzers, muss unbedingt wieder Anschluss an seine Truppe finden, die gegen die Deutschen kämpft. Er begibt sich mit seiner Besatzung auf eine gefährliche Fahrt durch die Wüste. Unterwegs trifft er auf weitere alliierte Soldaten sowie einen sudanesischen und einen italienischen Soldaten, die allein in der Wüste umherirren. Bald werden sie von einem deutschen Flugzeug attackiert. Und dann gehen auch noch ihre Wasservorräte zu Ende. Es beginnt eine dramatische Suche nach Wasser. Der sudanesische Soldat führt die Gruppe zu einem fast leeren Wasserloch. Dabei werden sie abermals von Deutschen attackiert. Beim Kampf um die Wasserstelle kommen die meisten von Gunns Leuten ums Leben. Inzwischen sind die Deutschen vor Durst fast wahnsinnig geworden und ergeben sich schließlich für einen rettenden Schluck Wasser. (3Sat Presse)
