Zwei Mädchen vom Lande, Queenie und Hank, verdienen sich ihren Lebensunterhalt mit gemeinsamen Auftritten in einem kleinen Varieté. Als sich beide in den New Yorker Sänger und Tänzer Eddie verlieben, geht ihre Zusammenarbeit in die Brüche.
