El motivo del regreso del Coronel es una mujer, la que le da sentido a su vida y por la que regresa para casarse, sin embargo, ella ya está enamorada de otro hombre con el que huye. El Coronel se resigna a su pérdida y vuelve a las filas revolucionarias. Es notable la prioridad que les dan a Cantinflas y a Medel en los diálogos cómicos, quienes realizan una parodia de la trama de la película." (Cinemateca del INAH)
